Guidelines to Users of DLHA Community Sites

DLHA has taken great pains to make the DLHA.net portal a reasonably secure site especially as it concerns the personal information that you formally submit at the site. Our Privacy Policy defines the extent to which we go to protect your valued privacy. Please take some time to read the Privacy Policy.

However, some areas of the portal located in the various Community sites like the Message Boards, Chat Rooms, Auction/Market sites, the DLHA Healthy Connection^SM are entirely 'public' areas. These are basically Interactive (User-to-User communication) areas with DLHA monitoring ranging from medium to none.

Notwithstanding, it is important to mention that these public areas do have certain benefits in the sense that they may build communities of support and foster shared values between peoples across the world.

As the DLHA Privacy Policy does not fully apply in these public areas, DLHA herewith provides the following guidelines for the benefit of Users of public areas of DLHA Community sites.

1. DLHA.net designated public areas are areas where free and DLHA minimally moderated communication takes place between willing sender and willing recipients.
2. DLHA disclaims any responsibility for infringement of Intellectual Properties arising from the materials submitted by Users at the DLHA public areas. Responsibility for such infringement resides in the individual submitting the infringing material.
3. Users, who are not interested in joining the communication in these public areas, should not log-in to join.
4. Users who may wish to join the free flow of communication should take sometime to familiarize themselves with the process and context (language, style and details) of the communication before joining. For example, in some communities, certain social norms and explicit languages may be used by members, which others may find unacceptable.
5. DLHA does not however welcome the use of sexually vulgar, harassing, abusive and derogatory languages and Users are encouraged to report anyone culpable of such behaviour at the DLHA site to customer_service@datelinehealth-africa.net. DLHA will investigate the circumstances and take appropriate actions as necessary against any culpable individual(s).
6. Although the DLHA.net portal has designated and moderated public areas - "markets" - for selling and buying activities between willing sellers and willing buyers, DLHA does not permit the use of its non-designated public "market" areas for sales and marketing purposes of any kind, or to convey, prescribe and/or encourage the use of unproven treatment methods or medicament by other Users.
7. DLHA also does not encourage the use of any of its public area for the propagation of any religion or religious sentiments or precepts.
8. Conducts of these nature constitute abuse of the general Terms and Condition of Use of the DLHA portal, which would incur appropriate sanctions when found out or reported.
9. Users are encouraged to safeguard their personal identity at these public areas. Do not freely give your true name, home address, phone number, email address to any other User of the site that requests for it in a public area. If you feel comfortable enough with someone you have met in a public area and you wish to reveal your identity, you may well be advised to exit the public area and use direct email communication with the other party. But still do exercise caution.
10. DLHA values your safety but disclaims liability for the consequences of your use of information obtained from the DLHA.net portal in general and its public areas in particular.
