October 3 2002: Datelinehealth-Africa.net web portal is launched.
30 September 2002: Datelinehealth-Africa Inc., a Delaware non-profit corporation licenses the Datelinehealth-Africa.net web portal from its owner under a five year Licensing Agreement.
From January 2001 - September 2002: Beta version of site available for testing, debugging and further development.
September 2001 - December 2001: Extensive site design and programming initiated.
September 2001: Design and programming bid won by Messrs Incubation Systems Inc./ Newwebimage.com of Woodbridge, New Jersey, USA.
July 2001: Competitive web programming and design bid invitation was initiated. Ten web developers world-wide submitted bid. Bids were evaluated.
June 2001: The domain names Datelinehealth-Africa.net, .com, .org were registered.
January 2001: A need analysis and feasibility study was initiated.
September 2000: The idea of a web-based Africa-regional portal for health information and communication services was conceived at the Centre for Health Policy & Strategic Studies, Lagos, Nigeria.
