WHO DG 2003: The People's Selection Home Page

Your opinion matters.

The selection process for the next WHO DG expected to be in office from July 2003 - July 2008 is in progress. The process is solely under the control of thirty-two (32) Executive Board members of the world body based in Geneva. These members are expected to cast their votes in secret ballots until a candidate emerges by simple majority of members present and voting (e.g., 17 if all 32 members are present).

Notwithstanding this process, the people of the world reserve the right to express an opinion in the selection of a candidate. It would be of interest if the choice of the Executive Board members matches the choice of the people.

Cast your vote below to select a candidate of your choice among the persons nominated by their respective governments and short-listed by the WHO Executive Board so far.
